SCRIPT (iseng-iseng buat beginian) :D

SCENE 1        : News of the Japan Defeat
On August, 15th 1945, Caesar Hirohito asked to stop the controversy with “Sekutu”, after the previous day on August, 14th 1945, “Sekutu” gave the atom bomb to Nagasaki and Hirosima . This news was informed in Japan radio from Tokyo. This news also arrived in Indonesia and Sutan Syahrir heard that.

S.Syahrir         : Have you heard about the defeat of Japan ?
Sukarni            : Not yet, Bung. Is that real ? What happened to Japan ?
S.Syahrir         : From what I heard, Sekutu have bombed Hirosima and Nagasaki. That’s why Japan did the gun cessation.
Sukarni            : So, we have to proclaim our freedom as soon as possible.
S.Syahrir         : Exactly ! Japan has no right anymore in our country. We have to use this moment well !

SCENE II       :The  Incident of Rengasdengklok
Round 1          : The debate between the elders and the youths.

After hearing the news of Japan defeat, Chairul Shaleh directly planned a meeting with another members of youths to discuss about the freedom proclamation. This meeting was held in Jalan Pegangsaan Timur No.17 Jakarta at 20.00 p.m.

C.Shaleh          : My friends. . have you heard about the defeat of Japan ?
Wikana            : Not yet. From whom you knew that news ?
C.Shaleh          : Just now Sukarni and I gathered with Syahrir, he heard from Japan radio  that informed about the gun cessation of Japan.
Darwis             : So, it means that our country is in vacuum of power condition now ?
C.Shaleh          : That’s right. That’s why I gather all of you here to discuss about it. We have to use this situation to proclaim our freedom.
Sukarni            : Exactly. Then, we have to divide our task. Wikana and Chairul, you must go to Soekarno’s house to tell about this news. Bung Darwis and I will order the other members to grab the power from Japan.
All                   : OK !

At Soekarno’s house, Jalan Pegangsaan Timur No.56 Jakarta at 22.00 p.m. There was a serious debate between the juniors and Soekarno.

Wikana            : We have to proclaim our freedom now, Bung !
Soekarno         : This is my neck, push me to that corner right now, and cut my neck tonight ! You don’t have to wait until tomorrow !
C.Shaleh          : But, this is the right moment, Bung. Japan had lost from sekutu and they have no power anymore in this country. Why we have to wait ? The citizens have been suffering for long time because of this.
Moh.Hatta       : Japan is the past. Then we have to face Holand which want to take place this country again. If you disagree with me and thinking that you can shore this up  yourself, why did you come to Soekarno and asked him to proclaim our freedom ?
C.Shaleh          : Do we have to wait Japan’s promise to proclaim it ? We can do it, Bung ! We have to get up and proclaim our freedom by own. Why do we have to wait that sweet promise ? Japan itself had lost in their war !
Soekarno         : This little power can not lose Japan ! What will you do to save women and children if there is blood spilled ? How do we keep our freedom ? Try to think, how do we stand on our power.
Wikana            : But as soon as we proclaim our freedom, the suffering of the nation will also end soon. This is the moment that we had waited for long time, Bung.
Moh.Hatta       : All right. But give us some times to think more about it.

Then, the elders who were also in Soekarno’s house directly discussed about it.

Moh.Hatta       : How is it ? The youths demanded us to proclaim our freedom as soon as possible.
Soekarno         : But, we may not be rash, Bung. We need times to prepare everything well, so there will nothing happen that we don’t want to.
Mr.Soebardjo  : I agree. In my opinion, the important now is facing “Sekutu” that want to take place here again. Besides, the freedom should be discussed again in PPKI meeting on August, 18th later.

Iwa Kusuma    : Then, what about the youths’ opinion ? we just ignore them ?
Djojo Pranoto  : Yes, besides, they are still young, the way they thought is too short. We have to look at the future, preparing it well
Iwa Kusuma    : All right, Bung. It means that all of us agree.

After discussing, the seniors directly met the youths who waited outside.
Moh.Hatta       : After discussing, we decided to not in rash about proclaiming the freedom. It will discuss again in PPKI meeting.

Round 2          : The kidnapping of Soekarno and Moh.Hatta by the youths.

With sadness hearing the decision from the seniors, the youths left Soekarno’s house. But they didn’t give up. Then, they arranged a strategy to persuade Soekarno and Moh.Hatta to proclaim the freedom as soon as possible. Finally, the decided to kidnap them to Rengasdengklok to avoid the influence from Japan.
August, 16th 1945, at 04.00 a.m. At Soekarno’s house.

C.Shaleh          : Assalamualaikum..
Moh.Hatta       : Waalaikumsalam . What brings you come here so early ?
Darwis             : We plan to take you and Bung Karno to the safety place.
Soekarno         : What do you mean ?
C.Shaleh          : Yes. We will bring you to a place where you can’t be influenced by Japan.
Moh.Hatta       : All right, we will follow you.
Darwis             : Madam Fatmawati and the children should come to guarantee their safety.
Soekarno         : Okey, I’ll bring them too.

The disappearance of Soekarno and Moh.Hatta mysteriously in that morning, appearing panic for some leaders in Jakarta. This incident had known by Mr.Ahmad Soebardjo at 08.00 a.m.

Mr.Soebardjo  : Do you know where are Soekarno and Hatta right now ?
Wikana            : Oh I’m sorry, I don’t know, Bung.
Mr.Soebardjo  : Tell me where are them right now ! And I will be sure their safety when they come back to Jakarta, I will be sure the freedom for us the next morning.
Sudiro             : Will you swear for that, Bung ?
Mr.Soebardjo  : You can trust me, boy.
Wikana            : All right, we will show you the place, in Rengasdengklok.

Round 3          : Discussing with Soekarno in Rengasdengklok.

Soekarno         : So, tell me why did you bring us here ?
C.Shaleh          : Please forgive us about this, Bung. This is for your safety.
Darwis             : We want to discuss about the proclaimation again.
Moh.Hatta       : Didn’t we tell you that this problem will be discussed again in PPKI meeting ?
C.Shaleh          : Yes, you did. But all of us thought , Why do we have to wait for Japan to give us freedom ? Why do we have to wait the result of PPKI, if we can move by ourselves ? PPKI was made by Japan, Bung. We want to proclaim our freedom without Japan’s hands.
Soekarno         : That opinion is right. But it’s too early to proclaim the freedom. Besides, we’re not ready and still need Japan’s help to proclaim it.
Darwis             : What if their promise about the freedom is just a sweet promise ? What will you do ?
Sukarni            : Do you want to wait that promise forever, Bung ? We have to proclaim it now ! For our nation that had been suffering along this time. They have right to free, and now this time !
Syodanco S     : Calm down, gentlemen. Let’s talk about this with cold head, okay ?

(Syodanco Singgih brought Soekarno and Hatta stay far from the debate, then they began to discuss).
Syodanco S     : I understand what you mean, Bung. We haven’t considered everything well. But I believe that we can get up and use this situation well. A chance will not come back twice, Bung. What they said is true, and I support them.
Moh.Hatta       : But, can we do this ? Does everything is possible to do ?
Syodanco S     : Sure, Bung. If we try hard and have hard struggle, I’m sure we’ll find out the way. Besides, the other youths in Jakarta are preparing the defense strategy to prohibit the attack from Japan who doesn’t accept our freedom.
Soekarno         : All right, I agree. We will proclaim our freedom without Japan’s hands.

After that they went back to Jakarta to tell the other youths and elders about their plan to proclaim the freedom. And directly the proclamation script was arranged in Laksamana Maeda’s house.
Then, on August, 17th 1945 at 04.00 a.m, the proclamation script was read for the first time to all of the people who were in Maeda’s house. But, there was a problem about who would give signature on the script.

C.Shaleh          : In my opinion, it shouldn’t be signature by the members of PPKI on this script.
B.M Diah        : Why ? Then, who will give the signature ?
C.Shaleh          : PPKI was made by Japan, we have agreed that we will proclaim our freedom without Japan’s hands, right ?
Mr.Soebardjo  : You’re right, boy. So how is it, Bung ?
Soekarno         : Any of you have idea to solve this problem ?
Sukarni            : What if all of us here give the signature on this script ? Like America when they give signature on their declaration.
Moh.Hatta       : No, we may not imitate others, we have to be different from other countries.
Wikana            : Then, how, Bung Karno ?
Soekarno         : Because this is from the struggle of all the people in Indonesia, so it will be “On behalf of the Indonesian Nation”.
Sukarni            : I agree, and I have an idea. People that give the signature are you, Bung Karno and Bung Hatta as the vice of Indonesian Nation. What about that ?
Soekarno         : Good idea ! What do you think, gentlemen ?
All                   : Agreeeeee !!!

After all of them agreed, the script was typed by Sayuti Melik. All preparations of proclamation was completed at 4.30 p.m. Then, all of them returned home with feeling excited. Then the youth sent couriers to said that the proclamation was arrived. They also oversee the implementation of broadcasting news about it. Spreading some pamfleet into corners of Jakarta and its surroundings. So that all people can participate at the moment.
